RADIANT HEAT FOR YEARS TO COME

Maintaining Your Residential Boiler Heater

Your new boiler heating system is an important piece of equipment within your home, working to keep you warm and comfortable at all times. In order to keep it running efficiently and extend the systems’ life as long as possible, it’s important to maintain your boiler regularly.

While any major maintenance or repairs should be completed only by a licensed technician, there are many easy steps you can take yourself to maintain your boiler over time.

  • Check your air vents and flues regularly to prevent any blockages. If you spot any material in your venting during your check, remove it to allow air to continue to flow freely.

  • Check the water level in your boiler. If the water level in your system dips below the recommended amount of water, it could signal that there’s a leak in your system requiring further assistance from a technician as soon as possible.

  • Clear the area around the boiler. Your boiler requires free flowing air around the unit to continue to operate efficiently

  • Check the flame in your heater. Your pilot light flame should be blue. Should the flame appear yellow or orange, it could indicate a problem with your boiler requiring the help of a technician.
